Dreams Travel & Tours Inc. helps customers book train travel through our travel partners. Baggage allowances, restrictions, and fees are determined by the operating rail carrier and may vary depending on the route, service, and ticket type. We recommend reviewing the baggage policy applicable to your journey before traveling.
The carry-on and checked baggage policies for connecting rail and bus services may vary depending on the operating carrier.
Carry-On Baggage
Each passenger may generally bring two personal items (up to 25 lbs. / 12 kg and 14 x 11 x 7 inches each) and two carry-on bags (up to 50 lbs. / 23 kg and 28 x 22 x 14 inches each), subject to the operating rail carrier's policies. Please ensure all bags are clearly labeled with your name and contact information.
Overweight Bags
Overweight baggage may need to be repacked to comply with the rail carrier's weight limits. Additional charges or restrictions may apply depending on the carrier.
Excess Bags
Some rail operators may charge an excess baggage fee for luggage exceeding the permitted quantity or size limits. Where checked baggage service is available, eligible bags may be checked through to the final destination according to the carrier's baggage policy.
Infant Items
Passengers traveling with children under the age of two may usually carry an additional infant item, such as a stroller or diaper bag, subject to the carrier's baggage policy.
Storing Items
Carry-on baggage should be stored in overhead racks, under seats, or in designated luggage areas. Baggage should never block aisles, exits, or emergency access points.
Checked Baggage
Checked baggage service is available only on selected routes and stations. Not every train or station offers checked baggage facilities. Please verify availability before your departure.
All checked baggage should be clearly labeled with your name and contact information. Luggage should be packed securely in suitable travel bags or suitcases.
Where checked baggage service is available, passengers should check their luggage at least 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time unless otherwise instructed by the operating carrier.
Trainside Checked Baggage Service
Self-service trainside checked baggage may be available at selected stations as determined by the operating rail carrier. Availability varies by route and location.
Baggage on the Auto Train
Passengers traveling with vehicles on eligible Auto Train services must reserve space for each vehicle in advance and complete the required vehicle check-in procedures.
Check-In Times
Vehicle check-in schedules vary by service. Travelers should follow the departure instructions provided during booking.
Special Vehicles
Limited space may be available for motorcycles, trailers, and certain specialty vehicles. Additional fees and restrictions may apply.

Rack Information
Factory-installed roof racks may be permitted if they remain empty during travel and comply with the rail operator's requirements. Bicycle racks and other accessories may be subject to additional restrictions.
Special Items in Baggage
Certain special items may be accepted as carry-on or checked baggage depending on the operating rail carrier. Additional fees or restrictions may apply.
Archery Equipment
Bows, arrows, and related equipment may be accepted in accordance with the carrier's baggage policy.
Baby Items
Car seats, booster seats, folding strollers, and similar infant equipment are generally permitted when traveling with children.
Firearms and Ammunition
Firearms, ammunition, and similar regulated items are accepted only where permitted by law and in accordance with the operating rail carrier's policies.
General Sporting Equipment
Sporting equipment such as golf clubs, fishing gear, helmets, bats, skis, snowboards, and bicycles may be accepted subject to size limitations and carrier requirements.
Musical Instruments
Small musical instruments may be carried onboard if they meet carry-on size requirements. Larger instruments may require special handling or checked baggage arrangements.
Skis and Snowboards
Snow skis, water skis, poles, boots, and snowboards may be transported according to the baggage policies of the operating rail carrier.
